Prince William, the president of the English Football Association, presented the 25-year-old Tottenham striker with his medal at Buckingham Palace after Kane was included in Queen Elizabeth's 2019 New Year's honours list.
He was top scorer with six goals in Russia but the team was knocked out after a 2-1 loss to Croatia in the semi-finals.
Kane attended the ceremony with his fiancee and his parents.
"A real honour and an enormously proud day for me and my family," he tweeted.
"A massive thanks to my England teammates and coaching staff."

Football: Rice scores first Hammers goal to defeat Arsenal

LONDON (AFP) - Declan Rice's first West Ham goal secured a 1-0 win over Arsenal in a capital city derby clash at the London Stadium.
The victory in Saturday's (Jan 12) early kick-off saw the Hammers move up to eighth in the Premier League table, on 31 points, ahead of the bulk of the weekend's fixtures.
Teenage midfielder Rice gave himself an early present for his 20th birthday on Monday by scoring the only goal of the game three minutes into the second half.
"I can't put it into the words," an elated Rice told Sky Sports.
"The lads are always on at me to take the shot on more."
West Ham captain Mark Noble was almost as pleased as Rice himself, adding: "I am delighted for this young man to score the goal...He is a special talent and keeps working hard."
Defeat dented Arsenal's bid to break into the top four, with the Gunners still adrift of Chelsea - their next opponents - in the race for a Champions League place.
"It is difficult to win if you don't score," said Laurent Koscielny, the Arsenal defender.
"In football if you give a small chance to your opponent you pay and today we did," he added after a defeat that meant the Gunners had won just one of their last seven away Premier League matches.
Koscielny, looking ahead to next weekend's clash with Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, said: "It is a home game against an opponent in the top four. We know what we need to do. We need to prepare all week for this important team."
West Ham named Marko Arnautovic in their starting line-up despite the Austrian forward's brother and agent saying Thursday he wanted to move to the Chinese Super League.
And it appeared Arnautovic was waving goodbye to the home fans in a London Stadium record of over 59,000 when substituted in the 71st minute.
Former Arsenal favourite Samir Nasri started against his old club as the midfielder made his Premier League debut for the Hammers.
Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi returned from injury for Arsenal but there was no place in Unai Emery's squad for Mesut Ozil.
The match was goalless at the interval following near-misses by Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and Hammers playmaker Felipe Anderson.
That all changed in the 48th minute courtesy of Rice, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.
Granit Xhaka's poor clearing header fell to Anderson, whose ball came to Rice via a neat lay-off from Nasri and Rice's first-time shot gave Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno little chance.
Arsenal pressed for an equaliser but the Hammers survived three minutes of stoppage time as they held on for victory.

Destiny beckons for Reds

Destiny beckons for Reds

LONDON รข€¢ Jurgen Klopp has issued the magic number of "90-something" points if Liverpool are to lift the Premier League title this season and end 29 years of hurt.
He set the target after the Reds' late rally at Southampton to secure a 3-1 victory on Friday, re-establishing a two-point advantage at the top of the table over defending champions Manchester City.
It was far from easy for Klopp's men, who were rarely at their best at St Mary's after being confronted by awkward opponents, but it is nights like these that will only pep belief the long wait is almost over.
In this tussle at the top, they will not be the first to blink after Mohamed Salah's first goal since mid-February and Jordan Henderson in the last 10 minutes sealed the win.
Shane Long had grabbed the opener, only for Naby Keita to equalise with his maiden strike since joining Liverpool.
Purring after a "brilliant" comeback, Klopp, who joined in the celebrations after the final whistle, said: "We have 82 points, that is massive in this crazy league and everyone is waiting for us (to slip up). I am really proud. It is incredible.
"It is a difficult year for everybody, you'll need to have 70 to 75 points to qualify for the Champions League. But we are still in the race and that is nice.

"They deserved their early goal but we adjusted to the situation, stayed calm and waited for our moment. We had to be more lively in the second half, when Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum were struggling with the intensity of the season.
"But James Milner and Henderson came on, brought aggressiveness - verbal aggressiveness - and we had direction again after that."
The two substitutions were highlighted by pundit and former Reds defender Jamie Carragher, who told Sky Sports they were "massive" and "a great decision" at a point when their "passing at times in the game was a bit too slow".
While the Liverpool boss admitted the performance was "not at the top level", Klopp praised his side for showing grit, insisting that "at this stage, it is about fighting".

Declaring his team "will play our own football" as they enter the home stretch with five games remaining, the German said: "People want us to play like Manchester City but we are unable to do that.
"I told the boys we have a good mentality among us. We were well-organised, we pressed high and were everywhere on the pitch."
He also hailed Salah, who had been questioned before the match, claiming his class was "never in doubt", adding: "It was goal number 50 I heard for Liverpool, that's an incredible number.
"As a striker, you have chances and each striker is a human being. Maybe you have better moments and less good moments.
"But he's pretty consistent, his physical things are always there. He always stayed calm to deal with the situation."
And defender Virgil van Dijk, who was again a rock on his return to his former club, fired a warning to the rest of the teams that have yet to play Liverpool this term, starting with Chelsea next Sunday, that "with the players we have, with the way we play, we are always going to be dangerous with".

NO LETTING OFF
We've got to win every game. This was very big. Every game is massive. It was a big performance in the second half and a big result.
JORDAN HENDERSON , Liverpool captain, calling on his men to seize their chance of ending their league title drought.

KUDOS, GUYS
We have 82 points, that is massive in this crazy league and everyone is waiting for us (to slip up). I am really proud. It is incredible.
JURGEN KLOPP , Liverpool manager, purring after his side's brilliant comeback.

He added: "I do enjoy it (the pressure), obviously, I do not like conceding, but we showed character. The most important thing is to just keep on doing what we've been doing all season."
Henderson agreed with his teammate's assertion that their battling qualities were for all to see, before calling on the squad to make a final push and give the red half of Merseyside the present they have long desired.
It has been an unrelenting campaign with plenty of drama - the title lead has changed hands 25 times this season, the joint second most in a campaign since 1945.
But, with the finish line in sight, Henderson stressed this was a golden chance for his team.
The skipper, who scored his first goal of the campaign, said: "We've got to win every game. It was a big performance in the second half and a big result.
"I haven't got in those positions often this season because I've been in a deeper role. The manager felt I could get in the final-third positions more. No matter what happens in the game, we still fight right until the very end.
"That is what we have been doing for a long time now, and we need to keep that mentality going and not stopping until that final whistle goes."

Football: We are competing like animals, says Manchester City's Fernandinho

LONDON (REUTERS) - Defending champions Manchester City have shown they can compete like "animals" this seas on in a bid to retain their Premier League title, midfielder Fernandinho has said.
City restored their one-point lead over Liverpool at the top of the table after Wednesday's (April 24) 2-0 win at Manchester United and can become the first team to retain the Premier League title since the Old Trafford club in 2009.
Victory in the final three games of the season will ensure a fourth league crown in eight years and Fernandinho said City's display at United showed how determined they were to succeed.
"We showed the desire in competing for every ball like animals. I think this is the spirit of a team that wants to be champions," Fernandinho told reporters.
Liverpool, who are looking to end a 29-year drought for an English league title, were seven points ahead of City in January before Pep Guardiola's side handed them their only defeat of the season to reduce the deficit.
City have displayed ruthless form since, winning their last 11 league games, and Brazil international Fernandinho believes that the title race will go down to the wire.
"If you look back to January, they could have been 10 points clear after our game. We didn't want that. We reduced the gap to four points and now we're one point up," he said.

ร‚
"That's the way the Premier League is going to be decided and I hope we can do our job and win those three games, and be champions again."
City are at Burnley on Sunday (April 28) and finish their season with games against Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion.
"Burnley are always difficult. They have a specific way to play and it's not easy to go there. They drew with Chelsea last Monday," added Fernandinho, who is a doubt for the game with a knee injury.
"We have to recover as soon as possible and try to be fit and be ready. It's going to be a very important, very difficult game for us."

Football: Vatican women strap on their boots for the first time in World Cup year

ROME (AFP) - More than three decades after it first put out a men's team, women are finally strapping on the Vatican's colours of yellow jersey and socks and white shorts and bearing the keys of St Peter and papal tiara crest.
For 35 years, the world's smallest state has put out a men's team that for one match in 2010 was coached by European Cup winner Giovanni Trapattoni, while eight teams have competed in its men's championship for nearly half a century, with players coming from the iconic Swiss Guards, Museums and the economic services.
"We thought the time was right to try to organise something, training and matches, also for women," Danilo Zennaro, a representative of the Vatican sports association, told AFP.
And for a few months now, a group of about 20 women - including Vatican employees, wives and workers from the Bambino Gesu pediatric hospital administered by the Holy See - meet once or twice a week to train on the grounds of the Pius XI sports centre in the shadow of the Dome of St Peter.
The training kits are mismatched, the level of play variable with a lot of toe-poking going on, but serious effort is being made ahead of a match with Serie A side Roma and then a tournament in Vienna later this month, with the session continuing until late into the night.
"We are a very heterogeneous group, there are young people aged about 25 and 50-year-olds," said 35-year-old Vatican employee Maura Turoli, who has little footballing experience but now plays as a defender.
"It's wonderful to be on the pitch and see husbands and children waiting for us and supporting us on the other side of the fence."
Although Pope Francis, an Argentinian, recently spoke of football as "the most beautiful game", the three words "football", "women" and "Vatican" are not necessarily ones people would put together in the same sentence.
However, Turoli says that they "will try to disprove this idea and show that we have our place".
Teammate Floriana Di Iorio, who was already part of the women's team at the Bambino Gesu hospital, says this team "goes beyond sport" and wants to "spread a message of great openness".
"The main objective is to convey a message of union, to be consistent, to keep our enthusiasm and perhaps also to be examples in places where the role of woman is still seen as a little marginal."
A "spirit of union" is also what team coach, Gianfranco Guadagnoli, who works in the Vatican Post Office, wants to achieve.
"We've just started this group, the first training session was one of pain, problems ... But they are doing better than expected," said Guadagnoli, who also coaches the men's team.
"We've never played an 11-a-side and on a big pitch, but Roma have come forward and ... we will try, even if our means are not those of a Serie A team.
"It does not matter, we go with our qualities and whatever happens happens, without problems or dramas."
The match proceeded as expected, with a game understandably reduced to two 20-minute halves ending in a double-figures defeat and a baptism of fire for a trailblazing team.

Football: Ex-FAS general secretary Winston Lee withdraws candidacy for AFC exco seat

SINGAPORE - Former Football Association of Singapore (FAS) general secretary Winston Lee withdrew his candidacy for one of nine seats on the executive committee members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), just before the Asian football body's congress in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (April 6).
The FAS said in a statement that Lee, 53, informed them of his decision on Saturday morning.
"With his withdrawal, the three remaining candidates for AFC Exco (Asean zone) will be voted in uncontested," said the FAS in a media statement.
The three are Hamidin Amin (Malaysia), Tran Quoc Tuan (Vietnam) and Chris Nikou (Australia).
Lee, who was a vice-president at the AFC, was embroiled in a Commercial Affairs Department probe that shook the local fraternity ahead of the FAS elections in 2017.
The investigation into a possible misuse of funds was sparked by the revelation of a $500,000 donation made by Tiong Bahru Football Club, through the FAS, to the Asean Football Federation (AFF) for a Football Management System.
A police raid was carried out on four locations - the FAS' Jalan Besar headquarters, and the clubhouses of S-League/Singapore Premier League club Hougang United, "sit-out" S-League club Woodlands Wellington and National Football League club Tiong Bahru FC.

ร‚
ร‚
All three clubs were connected to Bill Ng, who was then chairman of both Hougang and Tiong Bahru, and who unsuccessfully challenged Lim Kia Tong for the FAS presidency in 2017.
Lee was one of four people arrested - the others being Ng, his wife Bonnie and former FAS president Zainudin Nordin - but no charges have been brought in relation to the matter.
At Saturday's AFC congress, Sheikh Salman Sheikh Salman Ebrahim al-Khalifa, a member of Bahrain's ruling family, was voted in as president unopposed.
A further five vice-presidents, six Fifaร‚ Council Members, five female executive committee members and a nine AFC executive committee members were also elected at the congress, which takes place once every four years.

Singapore equalised in the 67th minute when Shahdan's free-kick eluded everyone and beat Mango. But the Lions continued to display poor technique in the second half as Zulfahmi Arifin's casual pass in the 75th minute resulted in a fast break for the visitors, and Benjamin Totori beat Safuwan Baharudin and Izwan at the near post to restore the Solomon Islands' lead.

Rodgers predicts 'special things on the horizon' for Foxes

Rodgers predicts 'special things on the horizon' for Foxes

LONDON รข€¢ With the Claude Puel cloud lifted, here comes Brendan Rodgers' reign.
Leicester's new manager ran the rule over his charges from the directors' box on Tuesday as they claimed their first home win since Boxing Day, thanks to goals by Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy.
Rodgers, whose appointment was confirmed just before kick-off, was given a rapturous greeting from the fans and the reception was understandable after the restraint of Puel's 16-month tenure at the King Power Stadium.
While Davy Propper pulled one back, it was not enough for relegation-threatened Brighton as they slumped to a 2-1 Premier League defeat.
However, the night was all about Rodgers, who indicated he would bring the charisma and people skills that Leicester need.
The former Liverpool boss, back in England after three years in Scotland with Celtic, made all the right noises, promising to "give his life to make the supporters proud of their club".
He added: "It feels great, it has obviously come very quickly over the last few days, but I know I'm joining a fantastic club that has grown so quickly over these last few years.
"It's a young squad, a very dynamic squad, it's got huge potential and you've also got some of the players with good experience.
"There were a number of factors in being here and, like I say, I'm absolutely delighted.
"When the opportunity came to talk to Leicester and I was able to analyse it, it allowed me to think that I had probably achieved and taken the club at Celtic maybe as far as I could at this moment."
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester's vice-chairman, said: "I'm absolutely delighted to bring a manager of Brendan's calibre to Leicester and I look forward to seeing what he, our talented, young squad and our dedicated, skilled team of staff can achieve together."
First-team coach Mike Stowell, who took charge of the Brighton encounter, told reporters Rodgers had spoken to the players in the dressing room and predicted "there are special things on the horizon".
He said: "He was proud of them and liked the spirit. The atmosphere has lifted with a win and, with the new manager, I'm sure he'll bring a lot of good things and he's got a lot of staff with him. It's exciting times."
One of the new faces will be former Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool defender Kolo Toure, who will join the backroom staff as a first-team coach.
The Ivorian played and worked for the 46-year-old at Anfield and Parkhead, and Rodgers is also expected to raid Celtic for several of their key players.
